Frontline Source Group - temporary staffing and direct hire firm - is looking for a Quality Engineer - Platform Lead for our Cleveland, TN, client on a direct hire basis.
Day to Day:
While working on-going quality improvement projects, you will be interacting with your internal customers regarding real-time quality concerns. You will provide technical support to Quality Technicians and interact with Design Engineers while driving for immediate resolution. You will be a critical element in establishing a zero tolerance for defects from our supply base (internal & external). Assigned to a given cooking product line, you will have the ownership and through your use of quality tools and innovative approaches, have the primary responsibility of delivering world class quality to our customers.


What You Will Do:
Daily production line support on making decisions related to product quality serving as the voice of the customer.
Manage ongoing internal quality metrics improvements through quality circle activity and special individual project management.
Service Incident Rate (SIR) reduction assistance to help achieve 5% cooking category target and specific SIR target in assigned area of responsibility.
Responsible to create a process control development plan, updating and changing of plan when change occurs within the manufacturing process.
Determining root cause of problems and implementing corrective & preventative actions.
Participate in safety, cost, and delivery improvement initiatives.
Participate in new product launch activity and training related to Engineering Model Production Approval, pre-pilot and pilot builds.
Assist manufacturing engineering in delivery of new products that meet or exceed customer expectations for safety, quality and performance.
Performing Lean Sigma project work, and implementing Lean Manufacturing methodology throughout area of responsibility.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree with 5-7 years manufacturing experience, additionally supervisory experience desired.
CQE or CQRE status desired.
Demonstrated ability to work independently.
PC proficiency utilizing MS Office, Access and PowerPoint knowledge required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Ability to communicate cross functionally internally/externally as well as to all levels of the organization.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing desired.
Minimum of 6-Sigma Green Belt training. Black Belt certification preferred.
Demonstrated capability to lead others toward a common goal with exceptional results.
