The Business Analyst is under the direct supervision of the Director of Information Technology.
The Business Analyst is responsible for carrying out the tasks assigned by the Director Information Technology.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Business Analyst will be responsible for the following:
Analyzing Business Requirements related to software systems support and development Acts as a liaison between the business community and Information Technology Working within the framework of the system development life cycle methodology Carrying out tasks assigned by Director of Information Technology Participating and performing standardized test plans Participates in regular training programs Communicating effectively with the client community Providing support to the client community.
Translate Strategic Objectives from the Director into management objectives Establish and execute Information Technology guidelines in conjunction with Director of Information Technology Maintain a positive attitude Organize and manage complex tasks Work outside the normal business hours as the position demands May perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Information Technology.
QUALIFICATIONS Strong organizational and communication skills Proficiency with standard Office productivity tools:
Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project Must be able to communicate on a variety of levels from executive to analyst Ability to work on 3-5 small projects simultaneously, while maintaining a positive attitude in a high-pressure environment is a must Familiarity with system development life cycle methodology and basic testing strategies is a plus Able to mentor and manage multiple teams to the accomplishment of organizational goals EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS 80% of the time will consist of answering telephone calls, transferring calls, sitting, stooping, reaching, typing, and bending 20 % of the time will consist of facilitating meetings with vendors, creating reports, making spreadsheets and documentation if there are any changes throughout campus The job includes walking, standing, stooping, sitting, and bending at time throughout an average day - up to 85% of any given day.
This job may involve some crawling under tables, taping and wiring No major lifting is required 5% of this job requires minor physical lifting and moving of boxes and materials WORK ENVIRONMENT Maintain a clean environment; Students, guests, faculty/staff members will stop by your desk.
The temperature is maintained by a closed and regulated HVAC system.
